About

I’m not a native Vermonter, but I am a natural-born eater who enjoys exploring my adopted home state with my family and discovering new local delicacies.  As a working mom of young children, I also appreciate family-friendly convenience with as little high fructose corn syrup as possible. Some of my favorite Vermont Foodie discoveries, in no particular order:

Pete’s Greens

Really, Pete’s Greens is basically responsible for my blog. I started it in 2009 after signing on for Pete’s CSA as part of a CSA blogging group. I loved the CSA, but didn’t continue it for a variety of reasons. The blog went stagnant after my CSA ended. But you know what? I still love food and I still love blogging, so I’m back.

My Little Cupcake

I first read about My Little Cupcake in Seven Days in June of 2009 (read article), and almost immediately made a special trip to the Williston Farmers Market to try one. Lucky me, they now have a storefront nearby. And I still snap photos of these adorable (and delicious) cupcakes whenever I can.

Samosaman

Vermont is brimming with amazing farmers markets from spring through fall. While visiting the South Burlington Farmers Market a few years back, I was starving. And surrounded by great food. I bought a chicken cheese samosa from the Samosaman table, and I’ve had cravings ever since. It’s so much more than the name conveys.

On The Rise

As a mom with young children, there’s not much better than a favorite bakery directly next to a favorite playground. I want to go to there. And I can, because that place is On The Rise Bakery in Richmond, Vermont. I haven’t met a bagel I like better, and I like a lot of bagels. Top that with a fried egg and melted local cheese. Mmm mm.
